Day 1: EUROPE – TASHKENT
Daytime flight with Turkish Airlines via Istanbul to Tashkent. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: TASHKENT
After a dynamic and eventful history, Tashkent developed into a renowned center of trade and craftsmanship in Central Asia in the 16th century. Extensive trade relations brought prosperity and prestige to the city. Today, we visit the Khast Imam Complex — home to the world’s oldest Quran — stroll through the winding alleys of the traditional mahalla district in the Old Town, and explore the vibrant Chorsu Bazaar.
We’ll also explore the modern part of the city: Independence Square, the Romanov Palace, Amir Timur Park, and the German Lutheran Church. Dinner in the enchanting restaurant “Open Sesame.”

Day 3: TASHKENT – PARKENT – TASHKENT
Not only steppes, deserts, and oases await us, but also the picturesque mountains of the western Tian Shan. A bus ride takes us to a unique scientific site: the Physics-Sun Institute (PHYSICS SUN).
We’ll learn about the solar furnace’s operation and why this specific location in Uzbekistan was chosen for one of only two solar furnaces of its kind in the world. We’ll see heliostats directing sunlight onto a giant concentrator made of 10,700 mirror elements — the focal point reaches up to 3,000°C.
We take the elevator to the top floor for a breathtaking view over the mountains and nearby villages. Lunch in a local teahouse — enjoy the famous Parkent shashlik and samsa (baked savory pastries). Return to Tashkent in the afternoon. If the schedule allows, we’ll attend an opera or ballet performance (subject to schedule).

Day 4: SAMARKAND
Train ride to Samarkand. With a history of 2,750 years, Samarkand is one of the world’s oldest cultural centers. Under Timur’s rule, it became the most beautiful and significant city of its time.
A flourishing trade attracted merchants and travelers from all over the world, bestowing wealth that is still reflected in the city’s many magnificent buildings. The Registan — a monumental square with grand madrasahs — is the city’s heart and a symbol of Uzbekistan.

Day 5: SAMARKAND
Today’s highlights include the Tomb of the Prophet Daniel, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, the Polish Catholic Church, the Russian Orthodox Church, and Ulugh Beg’s Observatory. At El Meros Theater, we’ll experience a theatrical performance showcasing the historical costumes of the peoples of the Silk Road.

Day 6: SAMARKAND – BUKHARA
Departure for Bukhara. Along the way, we visit the ruins of a caravanserai in Rabati Malik, a ceramics workshop in Gijduvan, and the minaret in Vobkent. Just before reaching Bukhara, we tour the Emir’s Summer Palace.
Alternative option: train journey to Bukhara.

Day 7: BUKHARA
Full-day city tour of the historic Silk Road caravan town. Known as “the Noble” city, Bukhara’s rich heritage is reflected in its countless madrasahs, mosques, and mausoleums.
Visits include: the Labi-Hauz ensemble, Kukeldash Madrasah, Moneychanger Bazaar, Chor Minor gatehouse, Magoki Attori Mosque, Ulugh Beg and Abdulaziz Khan Madrasahs, Mir-i-Arab Madrasah, Kalyan Mosque and Minaret, Ark Citadel and Registan, Samanid Mausoleum, and Bolo Hauz Mosque.
During the tour, we’ll pause at a traditional teahouse for spice-infused teas and cardamom-cinnamon coffee (optional).
In the evening, we’ll visit a workshop to learn how handmade silk paper is produced, followed by a local specialty dinner at a miniature painter’s home.

Day 8: BUKHARA
Another full-day walking tour of the city, revisiting the vibrant atmosphere of the Silk Road. As in the previous day, you’ll see key sites, enjoy tea with spices, and dive deep into the culture.
Optional evening visit to a silk paper workshop and dinner with a miniature artist.

Day 9: BUKHARA – KHIVA
Today, the caravan moves onward to Khiva. Like the Mongol horsemen of old, we journey through vast semi-desert landscapes, steppes, and oases along the Amu Darya River.
Midway, we stop for lunch in a desert restaurant and sample “desert fish” and grilled beef skewers.
Evening arrival in Khiva and dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 10: KHIVA
An oriental dream of scents and sights awaits in the oasis city of Khiva. This medieval Islamic city still casts its old-world spell. Narrow lanes, earthen homes, magnificent mosques, madrasahs, palaces, and minarets make the city feel like a fairy tale from 1001 Nights.
The Old Town (Itchan-Kala) with about 50 architectural monuments has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site — truly an open-air museum and deservedly nicknamed “The Florence of the East.”
Sightseeing highlights: Itchan-Kala with the city wall, West Gate Ota Darvoza, Kalta Minor (the unique unfinished minaret), Amin Khan Madrasah, Kunya Ark Citadel, Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum, Islam Khodja Madrasah and Minaret, Juma Mosque (with over 212 wooden columns), Tash-Khauli Palace with its harem, East Gate Polvon Darvoza, and a caravanserai.
